my story

We honeymooned in Fiji. It changed everything

Elizabeth Ventetti Luxury Fiji Travel Agent

I remember the seaplane ride before I remember much else. The water was so clear it barely looked real. When we stepped onto the beach, the island’s staff greeted us by name, like they’d been waiting for us specifically, not just for two more guests checking in.

A stunning aerial view of a tropical beach in Fiji with clear turquoise water and lush palm trees, ideal for summer vibes.

I’d planned every detail of that trip myself. I wanted it to be more than a beautiful vacation. I wanted it to become one of those experiences we’d still be talking about years later. It did exactly that.

What I learned on that trip is that luxury was never really about where we stayed. It was about having uninterrupted time with the person who mattered most, and not having to think about anything else to get it. No planning, no logistics, no decisions waiting for us the moment we landed. Just each other, and the place.

Leaving was the part I didn’t expect. I remember crying as the boat pulled away, not only because our stay was over, but because I knew I would truly miss these people. We made lifelong friends with both the Fijians on the island and other couples during our stay. I already knew I wanted to give other people that same feeling. So when we got home, I became a luxury Fiji travel advisor, and I have spent the years since designing journeys through Fiji and the South Pacific for couples chasing exactly that feeling.

I still believe what I believed standing on that dock. Wanting to be taken care of, completely and without apology, is not something you have to earn or explain. It is simply a preference. It happens to be mine too.

Whether this is your first trip like this or your fifteenth, I plan every journey with the same care I’d give a trip for my closest friends and family.
